Besides the "About Me" page we have on our websites, I have a page called "Sheri's Corner". It tells a little about me with links to blogs and also my work ethic. I have the domain Sedona-Lifestyle.com as a link to that page. But most of these questions and answers are not on that page.
21 Questions About Sheri Sperry
1. What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
Retail - I worked in the bedding department of May Co. in Whittier, CA. May Co. was absorbed into the Federated Department Stores which is now Macy's.
I learned skills working with the public, deadlines, and pressure working a sale. It made me realize I love working with people. I still fold towels the way I had to for the department displays!
2. How long have you been in real estate or related industry?
Rick and I have owned our own properties since 1972. We never rented. This was our last home in Corona California.
I have been licensed in Arizona for 11 years but had done our own real estate transactions since the early 1980s and property management of 8 locations in Southern CA for a relative from 1980-1987.
We refinance a couple of different homes and I wasn't happy with the amount they had appraised the houses for. So I did my own comps and made an argument for a better appraisal. Each time they agreed with the higher amount based on the work I did.
Rick and I spent a lot of our weekends looking at new developments in Southern California. Back when newspapers were in vogue, we would get a Sunday paper and find development to check out. I learned about staging and new trends this way. We have always loved real estate.

Mariposa. It is a 5-Star experience. It is one of the top 100 most scenic restaurants in America. The views are phenomenal (and so are the service and food). It is where I take people to impress them. Don't go there at night. Make reservations 1.5 hours before Dusk. They can be weeks out so plan in advance. 21. What is something that we don't know about you that would surprise us?
My mom could not swim but thought it was important for all the kids to learn how to swim. I was taking swim lessons when I was about 7 or 8 and failed my first test. They made you jump into the deep end of the pool and it freaked me out even though I was a good swimmer. Obviously, I had to overcome this to pass. I still love the water and swimming.
