I realized that tomorrow is the last day of school for my kids this morning.
And I thought, whoa....perhaps it's time to get my act together for fun summer planning!
This time, I don't mean the camps and family vacations. I'm talking about the small things that make summer stand out in a child's (and adult's) memory.
Things like: staying up late for a drive-in movie, lazy afternoons at the pool, and ice cream cones dripping down your arm. If I'm being honest, these are the things I look forward to about summer.
It's a break from the crazy schedule of the school year - and a chance to slow down and watch your kids (or grandkids) ...
just be kids.
It's also a built-in time to slow down, play with your normal routines (see great ideas for your morning routine), catch up on reading, and indulge in fun hobbies you rarely have time to do.
So, what's your favorite thing to do in the summer? Do you take advantage of the slower days, or do you like to go adventuring with a summer bucket list?
Thinking about it ahead of time can help you set intention for the days ahead - to make them exactly how you vision your summer to be.
(But, no matter what you choose, don't forget to make time for laughter, a few ice cream cones, and things you love to do during this sunny season. )
