7 “Nice to Haves” for Your Home in 2022

Although there are tons of items you need for your home and will eventually have to get: everyone should have a list of 'nice to haves' that aren't necessary, but you'd still love them.

Whether you’re trying to decide what to aim for in the future, or you’re simply curious about what’s popular for everyone else in 2022, these are seven items many are vying for this year.

1. A Fantastic Heated Shower Floor

Early mornings are often difficult because nobody wants to get out of their warm bed and face the morning, especially in the winter. Heated shower floors ensure you can comfortably enjoy your shower with toasty feet, making the worst part of the day a little better. A good heated shower floor also helps reduce the amount of moisture in the air,

2. Fully Decked Out Gym Room

If you hate the idea of going to the gym but want to get into better shape, the answer many are landing on is an in-home gym. A fully decked-out gym room should have equipment that you can safely use to do cardio, work your legs and arms, and keep in healthy and flexible shape. Everyone's workout routine is different, so don't be afraid to make a room custom to what you and your household want.

If you want to take this further, a great way to make a home gym is to update a secondary suite, a small building outside of your home, to be your gym! You could even add a small bathroom so you can shower and get changed out there instead of having to come back into the main house sweaty and uncomfortable.

3. Touchless Kitchen Faucets

Kitchen faucets see a lot of mess throughout the day. From cooking to washing your hands between tasks, a lot of what we do can leave our kitchen sink and faucet knobs looking crusty. To avoid this mess altogether, many are turning to touchless kitchen faucets

These faucets don't need you to get any mess on them for them to work and help keep your kitchen sanitary and ready for further use.

4. Kitchen Library

In the 2020s, celebrity cooks and chefs are making a splash! Due to Covid-19, there was a huge push for people to bake and cook from home, and with that, many cooks and chefs were able to ride the waves to massive popularity.

People are collecting cookbooks from well-known names like Claire Saffitz and Eric Kim, and kitchen libraries are making a comeback! Many are starting to want a small shelved kitchen library area, where they can flip through their books and find the best recipe for that day: and who can blame them?

5. Spa or Hot Tub Space

We could all use a little stress relief these days; one of the best ways to achieve that is by adding a hot tub or spa space! The warm water and moisture in the air help us relax deeply and let go of all of the things that weigh us down throughout our day.

Although this could be an outdoor space, spa and hot tub spaces are better if they’re indoors, where you can get the most use out of them and fully unwind from your stress regardless of what the weather is like outside.

If you want to take this further, you could add a moisture-resistant Bluetooth speaker or two in the area so you can play some relaxing or fun music while you unwind.

6. Gorgeous Exterior Pavers

More people are deciding to invest in the exterior of their homes, and one fantastic way to do that is by adding beautiful exterior pavers. These can come in patterns, are great at making a walking or entertaining surface, and are easy to clean and maintain. You can change the entire look of your property by creating a sitting space with ashlar pattern pavers and some comfortable outdoor furniture.

This can be made even better if you leave gaps and openings in some of them so that you can have periodic plants and greenery planted there. This will make the space more comfortable and give you a chance to show off your green thumb.

7. Warming Drawers and Wine Cellar

We'd all like a fully decked-out kitchen, but what details matter most to you? In 2022 the top items many people want are warming drawers and a wine cellar. The modern wine cellar isn't a full basement but instead is often the size of a walk-in closet where you can leave your wine to be protected at a secure temperature and lighting.

Warming drawers are another awesome detail because they encourage you to entertain and have guests over, with food staying warm for as long as you need it to while you prepare other dishes.

Together these items can turn any kitchen into a hotspot for entertaining and fun!

Every Home Can Be a Dream Home

You don’t have to live in a palace to get a dream home! Consider adding some of these details, and your property can be boosted a level!
