On July 1, 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide construction spending lower 0.1% to $1,779.8 billion in May of 2022 from $1,782,5 billion April of 2022, but rose 9.7% from $1,621.9 billion in May of 2021.
Nationwide private construction almost the same 0.0% to $1,436.0 billion in May of 2022 from $1,435.9 billion in April of 2022.
Residential construction increased 0.2% of $938.2 billion in May of 2022 from $935.9 billion April of 2022.
Non residential construction declined 0.4% to $497.8 billion in May of 2022 from $499.9 billion in April of 2022.
The public construction fell 0.8% to $343.8 billion in May of 2022 from $346.6 billion in April of 2022.
The educational construction dropped 0.4% to $78.4 billion in May of 2022 from $78.7 billion in April of 2022.
The highway construction decreased 2.3% to $98.1 billion in May of 2022 from $100.4 billion in April of 2022.
