This is the most recent video Jeremy put together. As we waited for them to come home from Iraq, this is how they were filling their time. The first scene is a base and the guard in that tower on the hill top was playing music blasted over loud speakers. He also checked their ids and took requests using a strong telescope. To read Jeremy's comments on his tour and to see photos you can read Iraq Diaries just scroll down through the comments, each email was posted as a comment.

Nick and Trudy,

That is the COOLEST video!!! When the music started playing I got the chills. You must be so proud of your son. Please tell him thank you for the crew here at ActiveRain. His service is so appreciated!!

I hope you don't mind if I get that video a little extra exposure? :-)

Nick and Trudy,

This video made me want to cry with pride for what your son and all the servicemen are doing over there and around the world. The several views of the American flag were also awsome.

When your son gets back I would recommend you get him to help you do and edit videos. This in my opinion is professional quality. This may be why Bob tagged this for a feature in addition to the patriotism aspect!

Thanks for sharing and wish you would put it in the silent majority group as many there are also very patriotic!

Nick and Trudy, wow thanks for posting this. I just found out my son in the Navy is leaving for Iraq in March. I found out on Sunday night and have been a basketcase ever since.

This was really a tear jerker for me.

Also I didn't know there was a military group, so I am off to join.

Nick & Trudy,

All I can say is wow! As a Vietnam era vet, the closest I came to this kind of think was working with the bombers in Guam. As a father of a retired USN petty officer, he was on the first ship into the Gulf when Sadam invaded Kwait and he told me stories about the weather there. The sandstorms in the video were awesome and ugly.

My prayers are with our service men and women every day. We have the finest people serving in our armed forces. Thank your son for me.

Nick & Trudy,

I know of your relief and gratefulness first hand.  My husband deployed nearly 3 years ago (I pray he never has to return) & I know everytime my phone rang (while he was gone), I held my breath.  Just writing this now, still brings tears to my eyes.  It was  a helpless time for me and I pray that they end this & send all our troops home.

I wish your son and you all the best,

Wow, I can hardly keep up. I will have to post more of his videos. Thank you all. Yes, he is now home, with us. His 4 year enlistment is up and he is on lerave for a few more days till he is finally done, then 4 years where he can be called back. But he is busy making plans for college and enjoying life.

Thank you for all your thanks and positive comments, I am sure he will appreciate them and they will be an encouragement for him.

As a family member we know how hard it is for those left behind. We really noticed our business suffered during each deployment as our minds were elsewhere. It is only with support of others who understand what you are going through. We actually set up a Google group with password access for parents, friends and relatives to talk and support each other, we all posted photos of the boys and it was a safe place to express with others how you felt and what you were going through. of course you do need to set some guidelines and someone needs to oversee it but I would reccomend it to anyone who has a loved one abroad.

Great video, and great news.  I will continue to pray for your son's safe return.  As a veteran, I stand behind our troops, all the way.
