As a parent, we are always running all over trying to get everything done. There are times that we put work (being a realtor) first over family. Afterall, you need to work when it is available. Well, I learned a very valuable lesson this past weekend. I took Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning off to spend time with my son Jakob (who just got over phenomia).
I took him on a camp out with other bear scouts. There were four scouts in total (and four parents), and we all went hiking, fishing, swimming, a kayating, making some mors, etc.
Jakob is in the yellow vest.
Jakob at one point said to me that he was glad I was finally spending time with him. My heart sank, I didn't realize how much work had been coming first. I'm now going to try to make a point of spending more time with him and my other son Kyle. The reason why I work so much is for them.. but maybe it should be the other way around.
