Camping 2022 

We had somewhat of a "Staycation" this past week by heading out in our new (to us) camper at our favorite campsite just 45 miles from home. It went better then the one day test we did two weeks ago. Do you see a "problem" below?

That first afternoon trip was good until we got about a mile from home. Last weeks trip was much better.

We had good company with my best friend, Jerry, joining us for a day of games and barbeque. A new friend stopped by that made us feel right at home.

All of my previous bunny pics were taken right in our own yard. This fellow most likely lives in the backyard of our campground setting.

Of course our maiden voyage was not without "incident" . We had trouble with the awning (putting it back up after lowering it, and then a couple of even more minor thing. All and all we were really happy with our new purchase, especially the bathroom (with shower).

Hi Bob... glad to hear it was a fun trip for you. I'm sure you're looking forward to many more this summer. The is one nasty looking tire... haven't seen anything quite that bad since I don't know when.

Thanks Nina Hollander, Broker . The funny thing about the entire flat situation is that when it happened I scrambled to find a compatible tire to get the camper home the next day (we left it in a safe place at the time due to rain and lightening). It wasn't until yesterday (8 days later) that Timmothy and I discovered that there was a spare tire attached to the camper the whole time.  When we both saw it yesterday we both looked at each other and laughed out loud. Later when I told Tina she said she knew it was there and wondered why we didn't use it. I asked her why she didn't speak up... she said, "I thought you knew what you were doing". Silly girl 😄.

With the cost of gas, I think many of us are doing more staycations this year.  I know I am.  That tire looks frightful, Bob.  I'm glad you were able to survive and tell the tale.  The rabbit is very cute!

Thank you Myrl Jeffcoat . Even a short trip like that (90 miles round trip) it cost $75.00. I am glad we found a spot we like and enjoy it no matter how many times we go there.

The blown tire was scary. 1st of all it had been years since I'd had one and when that camper was leaning as it was I sure didn't want to go far BUT I also did not want to park it on the shoulder of a busy highway so I continued to pull it another 1/4 mile to a safe place.

Grant Schneider I was very lucky that it waited until we were a mile from home before it blew out. The entire trip, down and back, I told the family that something felt funny "like a tire out of wack".

I knew something was wrong Kat Palmiotti and when it went it truly blew out with a noise that a shotgun went off. I am lucky the rim was not damaged.
