Those conditions make sense Dorie Dillard Austin TX but then again when I was a single man I thought it stunk that I had to pay taxes to support the school system.

Hi Bob "RealMan" Timm : In Texas your school taxes are frozen at age 65 which really makes a difference! Since we don't have a state income tax most people prefer paying a little more for property taxes which includes the school taxes which in turn gives values to the communities.

I love that school taxes are frozen at age 65 in Texas.  We certainly don't have anything like that here.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - love that photograph and thanks for passing along this very important information!

It's too bad Myrl Jeffcoat that CA doesn't have anything like that where you live. The people of CA 65 and older would sure appreciate it!

Terrific exemption for seniors Dorie, and I just noticed how 65 and up have school taxes frozen too. That's a great program!

Hi Dorie - in New York the public transportation gets bailed by the drivers and that is why the bridge tolls are so expensive.
