Friday Fun…Are You a Junkie?


Yesterday was National Junk Food Day so I thought we could have some Friday Fun. 


I know that are some here who wouldn’t think of letting junk food cross their lips. Not me!!! 

 

While I don’t indulge like I did in my younger days and Larry and I do our best to have healthy meals, life is too short not to have some JUNK in your life!!!

 

 

Want to know the most popular junk food by state??? You can find out here!  I scrolled down to Texas and full disclosure…I’ve had this item once in my life. Not my favorite!

 

There were new snacks introduced last year at the Sweets & Snacks Expo. See if you can find any you like on the list. 


How about the 100 Greatest Snacks of All Time?  I found several on my list but #1 is not a favorite of mine…at all.

So what’s your favorite junk food??? I love Ruffles potato chips and Cheetos. Not a popcorn eater. My favorite “cheat” meal would be a hamburger, fries and chocolate malt. I indulge in this once a year.

Kathy Streib I was not surprised at North Dakota's favorite although it is not mine personally. Mine would probably be corn chips. (see more after this:

ND has a super high work ethic and always ranks very high nationally for worker productivity. Lots of us eat sunflower seeds as a source of energy. I don't get that "boost" from them but others swear by them, especially to stay awake while driving.

Pizza is junk food? Given it has all food groups, I am surprised. I couldn't find chocolate NECCOs one of my favorites.  Appreciate all the links and Happy Freya's Dag to you.

Kathy, these stats don't fit me at all.  Colorado says chocolate - NO WAY, and my sign says pizza, which I may have twice a year.

Gary is more of the junk food lover in our family!  Me, not so much.  So why is he so skinny and not me when he eats a lot of junk?  Maybe I should start eating a lot of junk food - naught!  If I have something it's probably going to be a little dark chocolate.  I'm not a fan of sweet stuff but on occasion I do like a few triscuits or Cheetos.

Kathy in my younger years, junk food was more the norm than the exception.  But in my more mature years I have had to behave.  ☺️

I agree Wayne Martin  Skinny Pop?? Who eats that??   I love donuts!  And life is too short not to have something you enjoy.

Ah-ha Michael Jacobs never figured you for a Cookie Monster!!!  Home made chocolate chip cookies are my favorite.

Bob "RealMan" Timm When Larry was quitting smoking many years ago, I got him sunflower seeds. I'd read something about the oil in the shell that was supposed to help.

Sham Reddy CRS oh yum!!!! I know that when I was a kid I loved a box of Cracker Jacks. Of course, back then the prize in the box was a lot better than what you get today.

Joan Cox I'll eat pizza but it's not my favorite thing to eat. I'm picky about my chocolate...it has to be dark and good. 

 

Will Hamm  I like cheese and crackers and enjoy pretzels but I still love chips.

Hi Kathy,

You are getting me to click on the links.  My husband is a Funyans fan, though I don't get them very often.  When you have a 6-year-old grandson, there is a lot of junk food at the house.  I buy a case of the snacks so Tristan can eat them in small quantities.  I am an ice cream nut.  I always have been.  I am buying smaller bars and ice cream sandwiches. Have a wonderful weekend.

Very interesting. I had no idea that Almond Joy was NH's junk food of choice. It used to be my favorite candy bar. Rarely have it anymore due to issues with coconut getting stuck in my teeth. LOL
