I love this month's challenge being hosted by my friend Ray Henson and I definitely like listening to the fish stories of others rather than telling my own. Although I have had many great experiences throughout my life, there aren't many that come to mind that were over the top enough for me to consider a fish story, haha. The story that I have chosen to tell you about is one that I don't even remember myself but it is one that my Mom told me about and I have enjoyed sharing with others over the years.
I don't even recall my age, but I think it was perhaps around 3 years old or so. I was with my Mom and she was shopping at Buena Park Mall (not sure if anyone will know this place, but perhaps my friend Michael Jacobs knows of it). Being that I hate to shop, I am guessing that I didn't much care for shopping back then either. No surprise that I wandered off in search of something better to keep my attention. Apparently, when my Mom discovered that I was no longer by her side she figured that assembling a search party was in order. She did this by having a store associate get on the loudspeaker and announce that there was a child lost in the store. They described the lost child and what he was wearing and then even announced his name. When I heard the announcement it is said that I stopped to listen then looked myself up and down but declared that I was not lost, haha. Another store associate saw me and returned me to my Mom and we continued shopping, much to my dismay. Too bad we didn't have cell phones back then and my Mom could have just let me know when she was done with her shopping and then I could have met her at the car, haha.
