Friday Fun…What Would Be In Your Cookie Jar?

Nina Hollander, Broker’s post yesterday reminded us that it was Chocolate Chip Cookie Day…so thank you, Nina, for making me want to make some chocolate chip cookies.

So it’s Friday and time for fun!  What would be in YOUR cookie jar if you could have any cookie in it you wanted???

I know that there are some who no longer eat cookies or any other sweet but if you did…come on…pretend…what would be in your cookie jar?  What’s your favorite cookie???

Mine is a homemade chocolate chip cookie. I’ve tried the bakery and store-bought ones and while some are good, it’s hard to beat a homemade chocolate cookie.

Larry and I once set out on a quest to find the perfect recipe (besides the Original Toll House Cookie Recipe) and ended up making about  6 batches of chocolate chip cookies using different recipes. Even though we ate a good share, we shared them with our friends and family too.

I don’t think we ever settled on one recipe, though but it sure was fun.

I did find these recipes that you might want to try The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Ever from Joy Food Sunshine and Best Chocolate Chip Cookies from AllRecipes.

And this video is right up your alley if you enjoy baking and knowing the “why” of what ingredients to use!!!

Ok…so please share with us in the comment section…what is your favorite cookie…the one you’d have in your cookie jar???

Hmm, I didn't have chocolate chip yesterday but I did have a chocolate cookie with macadamia nuts.  Also, the cookie was made with almond flour and coconut sugar so it was a bit healthier than the average cookie, haha.

I'm one who no longer eats sweets, but when I did, warm homemade oatmeal raisin and warm homemade chocolate chips were my favorites!

Good morning Kathy. While it is impossible to beat a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie, nothing beats Oreo's in the cookie jar. I don't buy them anymore but there was a time when the cookie jar was regularly stocked. Enjoy your day.

That is an interesting question Kathy Streib. My favorite cookie is the Toll House Cookie with Ginger Snaps a close second. Both with a glass of milk or cup of coffee hit the spot for me.

I would do a mix of cookies that would include CC...but also I would need some peanut butter!

Kathy if I could still eat them, soft gooey chocolate chips cookies would be among my top choices.

Oh My if I were to imbibe in a cookie, more like maybe 1/2 a cookie as I don't like sugar much it would be a chocolate cookie from a store here in town.  Once is awhile we'll buy one and Gary eats most of it.  But it sure is good!  Yum! Yum!  As for a cookie jar it's filled with doggie treats and today was the day I filled it up!  Talk about happy puppies getting their cookies today!

Brian England that sounds good..did you make it????

Kat Palmiotti I have to applaud you for that. I don't eat as much as I use to. Though I do have a small piece of good dark chocolate after dinner.

Wayne Martin There are a lot of Oreo lovers. I like them but haven't had one in a while.

Doug Dawes oh that sounds so good. I haven't had a ginger snap in ages but I do love gingerbread cookies at Christmas.

Bill Salvatore - East Valley my favorites as well. I made some really good oatmeal raisin cookies a few months ago and may make some soon.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty that reminds me...I haven't had a good peanut butter cookie in a long time. I remember my mother making them and using the tynes of the fork to make an impression in them.

Joan Cox I was going to make some this weekend but I'm not going to be able to find the time.

George Souto love them when they're right out of the oven and the chocolate is melting all over your hands.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 you and Larry. He loves nuts in his cookies or brownies.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker I'll have a few biscotti in the house because they go well with coffee. I don't tend to keep cookies around because someone in the house would eat them all! LOL

Wow...I had no idea Friday was Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! I have not had one in a very long time and on Friday I just happen to have had TWO!

I attended my favorite aunt's memorial service and at the lunch afterward they had chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I had no idea when I took one that it was going to be WARM.

It was so wonderful I headed right back up without hesitation for a second. LOL
