Duck Donuts in Gaithersburg Has Closed Permanently

Duck Donuts has closed its Gaithersburg location after operating for just over five years. Duck Donuts opened in April 2017 at 511 Quince Orchard Rd in Gaithersburg. It was the second Montgomery County location, opening a little more than a year after the Rockville location opened in early 2016 at 1327 Rockville Pike.

Duck Donuts is a donut chain that began in North Carolina’s outer banks (in Duck, NC) and offers freshly made cake donuts with a variety of toppings, along with coffee and other  items like ice cream, milkshakes, and other breakfast offerings. The MOCO Show

It's sad to lose businesses in our community.  I know the restaurant industry has been hit especially hard with the pandemic.

Sorry but I never saw any redeeming features in junk food and that's what these appear to be, but then I have never eaten them.

Roy, we have two special places where all the communities around purchase their donuts and cookies.  Costly, yep!   But sooooo good.  My very favorite donut is the Maple Bacon.  I know I would be disappointed if they closed. 

And my favorite cookie is the Pistachio 5 to 6 inch-diameter cookie.  You order it and they bake it on premises and ready to pick up in 20 minutes ---- $6.75 per cookie.  The inside of the cookie is filled with the icing that usually would frost a cookie -- piped in like a jelly roll.
