EARLY TO BED; EARLY TO RISE
It is three o'clock in the morning and the much needed rain is falling softly. A peak outside my window shows glossy streets that glitter from outdoor lighting from neighbors yards and outdoor porches. This early morning was a good time to re-visit the last few chapters of Personal Librarian. I was glad my book club chose to read and discuss the life of J.P. Morgan and his Personal Librarian, Belle da Costa Greene. The book is an excellent historical fiction about the American financier and investment banker's collection of the oldest books in the world he trusted with his Personal Librarian to negotiate and purchase on his behalf, as they built one of the finest Libraries in the world to keep his collection in New York. John Pierpont Morgan, Sr., (April 17, 1837 - March 31, 1931) was the man who dominated corporate finance on Wall Street. In sum, life isn't always about the money, it is about preservation, trust, and the secrets we must keep.
BUSINESS
In business, personal decisions with people we trust builds the most successful organizations. Gaining confidence and the competitive advantage develops over time. Choosing the right people is key. Having the right skills is essential to survive and keep the business going. But it all begins with trust.
PRIORITIES
I wake up early to prioritize and to do the personal things that are important to me. Self-discipline keeps me going. Quiet time is the best time to get my affairs for the day in order.
READING & WRITING
My love for reading and writing never ends. Business is my passion but reading improves my thinking as I discover different perspectives and just how valuable new words and personal stories can enrich my life. When it comes to business, workshops, training courses, and continuing education is incorporated into Best Practices. As for clients, they deserve the very best---Patricia Feager
