Truth or Dare: No Fish Stories here in the August Challenge!...
- We all go on vacation to get away from it all and have a great time, but I want to know, what vacation day was your worst?
I was flying back from Europe and for some strange reason the flight from Vienna was diverted to Paris, instead of having me fly to JFK the Airline then flew me to London and from there I ended up in Minneapolis Minnesota. When I arrived, the customs guys looked at me and I smiled and said thank God I am on US soil…. From there I went to LaGuardia airport in, N.Y. and took a Limo to Waterbury, CT. Vacation was great but getting home was a challenge.
- What would be your bucket list vacation or, if you have already taken it, tell us about it? Pictures encouraged.
My bucket list is too long to state here, but since the Pandemic Shutdown I lost all interest traveling; hence I am becoming my father I can travel via National Geographics to Brazil, Africa and Asia with my fingers. Less stress and less drama.
- If your ActiveRain friends were to visit you, would you prepare dinner for them or would you take them to the best pizza joint in town? What would you make or where would you go?
Quite frankly I would leave it up to them, if they wanted to go out to a restaurant, or what type of food they want to eat I would be open to either one. Now if they wanted me to cook what ever they desired I would be open to that as well.
- We all know that Canadian bacon and pineapple are the best toppings for any pizza. If you can’t have those toppings on your pizza, what would you choose?
I prefer think crust cheese pizza or maybe pepperoni pizza as second choice.
- 5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Not a big fan of Ice-cream, but if you offered me fruit or dark chocolate you have me enjoying it.
6. What is your beverage of choice with dinner; beer, wine, iced tea, a cocktail, or …..?
With good dinner Wine is my preferred alcohol drink and not just red wine but preferably a good Bordeaux wine.
- 7. Do you prefer going to a concert, the theater, or a big sporting event? Who or what would you be watching?
I used to be very open to going to the Hollywood Bowl, The Los Angeles Symphony Hall and even Rock Concerts as well as Basketball and Baseball games. Now that the Pandemic Shutdown has arrived, I have zero interest in going to any of those events.
- There are so many great festivals across the country. Is there a special one in your area? Pictures are encouraged.
My favorite festivals were the Newport Jazz Festival, the West Hollywood Halloween Parade, and the Rose Parade in Pasadena. Yes you guessed it no interest to go again.
- What is your greatest sporting accomplishment, hitting a hole in one, bowling a perfect game, hitting the game winning shot, etc.? If you do not enjoy athletics, what is your greatest accomplishment?
Not wanting to brag, I was Track Star in High School and ran the one mile and/or the two mile as a regular event, one time I just had my best time and took first place in the State Sectionals and the coach said he needed me on the Mile Relay because the anchor leg’s star runner got injured…. I managed to keep the team in second place.
- Are you a pet person? If so, names and pictures are a must!
Anyone who knows me and reads my posts, knows I am a pet friendly Realtor and I donate from every commission a portion of it to animal rescue organizations. As of this writing we have three cats and a dog.
- What is your favorite thing to collect, or do you prefer to keep things simple and clutter free? Or what is your decorating style?
Again, those who know and read my posts know I used to be a reader and now thanks to the Internet and 20+ listings average per month turned me into a book collector. Gratefully Diane is still a reader.
- What job did you have just prior to making the switch to real estate and has it helped you in your real estate career?
Great question, I just wrote a post about this very subject. Since I was interviewed and this question came up, let me just put a link to it incase you missed it https://canvasrebel.com/meet-endre-barath/
- 3. When you are writing on ActiveRain, who is your audience and why did you choose them for your audience?
Originally when I joined ActiveRain in its early inception, I just wanted referrals. Then as time went on, I learned to blog, I also learned that the friendships I developed on ActiveRain were just as valuable as the few referrals I picked up over the years. Not downplaying the referrals, the friendships are equally great in a competitive field as Real Estate. So with that said my audience is both Active Rain and potential buyers and sellers. The feedback is great from the Active Rain friends. So is the listing appointments and the buyers who reach out to me because of my posts.
- What makes you the real estate agent of choice in your area?
Not wanting to repeat myself please click on this link and read my interview, I believe it is covered well https://canvasrebel.com/meet-endre-barath/
15. What is the most outrageous action that a client has ever asked you to perform?
Wanted me to fill out the Contingency Removal for a two-million-dollar home and this was about 20 years ago. I told him sorry I was traveling with my parents in the Sequoia National Park not near a computer or such, he needs to do it himself…. Ironically, he tried to take legal action after the deal closed and said he never signed the contingency removal… funny when we showed it to him that it was his signature…. He forgot that he could not scam me into signing it for him.
16 . We show a lot of homes in our profession. What is the most interesting home or, item in a home, that you have encountered?
To me it was a home that was on one pole in the Hollywood Hills the name of the house is Chemosphere. The home sits on the hillside on Mullholland Dr. John Lautner designed it feel free to google it. “…The Chemosphere is a modernist house in Los Angeles, California, designed by John Lautner in 1960. The building, which the Encyclopedia Britannica once called "the most modern home built in the world", is admired both for the ingenuity of its solution to the problem of the site and for its unique octagonal design..”
- What are your three favorite neighborhoods in your area and what makes them special? Are you lucky enough to live in one of those neighborhoods?
I love Malibu and what makes it special is about 21 miles of ocean front. That is the Pacific Ocean. My second favorite neighborhood is Manhattan Beach not just for the Ocean Views, but the fantastic Restaurants and of course my favorite Book Store Pages call it their home. My third choice is Beverly Hills the destination place of all people from all over the Globe. No I do not live in any of these neighborhoods, for many reasons too long to write it in a paragraph.
18. We all love client testimonials, but is there one that really made you feel special? We would love to see it.
“…As you've probably figured out by now, my wife was very impressed with you during our purchase of our home, and always says that if/when we sell, she wants to use you as the agent. I estimate we are probably 3 to 6 years away from that --- especially with all the uncertainty of the moment --- but who knows... “( I never posted it; this is the first time I am cutting and pasting it here the year was 2020 and it was an email to me)
- What is your favorite volunteer work or charity?
Most of you who read my posts know Animal Friendly Charity is my favorite Charity, such as Rescue Groups that are in the front lines saving cats and dogs too many organizations to list here. Local and National and I not only support them but I also contribute to them from my commissions of every closing.
- What does the flag represent to you?
To me the American Flag represents, Freedom, Democracy and Opportunity. Unlike sadly many who would not, I was prepared to defend it and protect it and die for it, when I was in the US Army as an Airborne Ranger Infantry CPT. & I am proud to fly it on our home every day. I am setting the example to my neighbors who have a hard time flying it 13-15 days out of the year here in Los Angeles.
- 21. When we discuss life, my dad always says he is not sure what he would like to be when he grows up. He is 77! What do you want to be when you grow up or are you already in your perfect profession?
Like your Dad I am not sure what I like to be when I grow up, then again why grow up? Way too much responsibility😊 Thank you for the fun but long Active Rain Challenge. Ray Henson & @Margaret Rome
