How to Avoid Most Stress When Buying a Home

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart

Buying a home is a stressful process. I know I have purchased thirteen homes in three states, also I have helped almost 1,000 families buy or sell a home. I have heard complaints from many people. Some of them were when a person found me after having negative experiences with other real estate agents.

You will get excited when you see a home advertised and want to jump and run to see it, that can be one of your first mistakes. Because when you see you do not like it and (you won't) that agent will be all out to tackle you and become their customer and you know nothing about that agent's practices, and qualities  It is like marrying the first person you meet in the first hour you are with them.

Often having a friend or relative who has used an agent recommend someone they had a good experience with is quite helpful.

The #1 complaint of Realtors according to the National Association of Realtors is noncommunication. And that is the worst issue I had in my 40+ years as a Realtor.

SUGGESTIONS: Before making a commitment or even looking at homes with an agent. Take out pen and paper and ASK:

How long have you been licensed?

How many homes have you sold representing a buyer and representing a seller?

If you are on a team how many homes have YOU sold? Not the team

How often do you communicate with your customer?

Why should we choose you as our agent?

What will you do that most agents will NOT do?

I hope your day is as great as mine
