Celebrating Those Who Give Back
If you’re like me, you’re tired of negative news stories in the paper (if you still take one), on social media, and on our daily newscasts. A daily dose of this downer juice could keep you in a permanent funk.
This is why I love sharing uplifting stories…of events and people.
Last weekend we attended a small fundraiser on behalf of our walking buddies Jac and Russ Rickmann.
Jac and her husband Russ do prison ministry weekly in the Houston area. When they speak of their efforts, you can see how much joy they receive from helping others. The fundraiser on Saturday was to help them take another trip to South Africa…
“We've been called back to South Africa on mission. We will be going into prisons and Churches, squatter camps, and schools in Joberg, & Cape Town.”
Russ played professionally for years. He and Jac now perform for their church and other special occasions.
It’s easy to donate money to a cause but giving of our time takes much more effort and dedication.
It is my hope that you’ll share positive stories as well. I think we all good use a good dose of Joy Juice.
