Friday Fun…Everyone’s Old But Us
Many years ago, Stan, a friend of Larry’s mother brought one of those talking fishes to her retirement home party. He laughed and said that all of the OLD people at the home got a big kick out of it.
The funny thing is…Stan himself was about 95 years “young.”
I told Larry that should I be shot, in an accident, or some other tragedies befall me, I do not want to be described as “the elderly woman…”
That said, I still find myself referring to others as older people or elderly, when I may be their age or even older.
Who me??? Old???
Age is not what’s written on our birth certificates but what’s in our minds, spirit, and attitudes. So until such time as I declare myself old I’m going with this... everyone is old but me!!
The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm. Aldous Huxley
Let us never know what old age is. Let us know the happiness time brings, not count the years. Ausonius
