What's the Difference Between an Agent Showing and an Agent Previewing?
It's an easy question for us to answer being in the Real Estate business, but sometimes a client is confused by the different terms.
Previewing Agent
There can be different scenarios why an agent may Preview a home. Some agents like to preview a property for their client before they bring them to a listing to make sure it is what their client is looking for, without wasting their buyers time on something that will not work for their buyer. Sometimes the client is out of town and the agent Previews homes and chooses the ones that may match their buyer's criteria before sending them the photos and description and scheduling an appointment. There are also times an agent wants to see what the competition is selling before giving their seller client a value of their home. And, there are times when agents preview to get an idea of what is on the market for a future client. This is known as Agent Previews. At an agent preview, the buyer does not tour the home.
Showing Agent
An Agent Showing is a Licensed Real Estate Agent or REALTOR® taking their client with them to see the home together. Buyers tour the home with their agent, and can ask any questions they may have. They may show one home that can be perfect for their buyer, or show many homes while sorting out which is going to the best choice for their client. Many times the Showing Agent works for the buyer, and it's a good recommendation for the seller not to be home during the home tour.
