I took a day off, yesterday (well, except for a handful of phone calls).. and spent the afternoon with my sister at a local casino.
I know, I know...
I"m going for a long
ride in a hand-basket
I'm a casual gambler. I put the monies I'm willing to risk in my left pocket and my winnings in my right pocket. Once it enters the right pocket, it is sacrosanct, and cannot be removed until I've left the casino.
I was pretty deep into that left pocket when I had about 30 minutes left, and was down to my last funds. So I made that decision to risk it all. The point was a four, a rough number to hit. I spread the balance of my money out on the table placing the 6 & 8 (two number with high probability), and adding odds to the pass line and the 6 & 8. (Don't worry... those of us who play craps understand what I just said). I was also going to play a random come bet, but I didn't have $15 left.
Fortunately for me, the designated roller went on a long ride, hitting number after number... including my 6 and 8. Each time they hit, I left the money up there, and pressed my luck. They hit time, after time. After hitting each number for the forth time, I took those bets down to the minimums, so when the roller finally seven-ed-out after a long roll, I was well into profits.
That's my kind of day-off. I'm not usually that lucky.
