👨‍💼Are You Seeing a Recession?

The definition of a recession has always been two quarters in a row of negative growth.  We are in a recession.  It may have been a mild one so far, but when you put it with the high inflation rate, we have experienced stagflation for the first time since the 70's.  My hope is still that it will not get too bad.  A huge amount of wealth has already been lost.  I hope we get better news by springtime.

Hi Brian - thanks for sharing that.  I will have to come back and read that article.

Our CEO was talking about this yesterday, said things are fluid and it looks as if the FED will continue to aggressively raise rates and push us into a recession to overcome the inflation situation. I guess we will have to wait and see how it plays out.

This is the first recession that I’ve lived through where I see so much of the homeless in our society. Fortunately I’ve only read about the Great Depression Brian 🙂.

That article was written on August 7th.  I felt the recession coming back in January but there were no numbers back then to indicate it.  Rick and I worked in service industries before real estate.  We always knew when a recession was coming because our industries started to "circle the wagons."  It started in the first quarter.

Here is the real issue, if those in power don't acknowledge it they won't do anything to fix it until it is too late. I personally think that this could be really bad if changes in our energy policy don't start now.  Energy accounts for most of our inflation currently. 

Economists remind me of meteorologists because local economy is different than state to national economy and more often that not they disagree.  All we can do is continue to move forward, work our plan and plan our work.
