Halloween is fast arriving and store shelves are full of candy to purchase for the holiday. So many choices. How will you make sure you're buying what trick or treaters in your state like?
Some years ago when I checked out North Carolina's favorite candy for Halloween it was a complete surprise to me that Butterfingers were listed as our State's favorite candy. My personal experience with trick or treaters coming to my home was always a strong preference for KitKats, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Skittles. This year, I see that North Carolina's favorite candy is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... much more to my expectations of several years ago.

Halloween candy sales are a big deal for candy manufacturers and 2022 is slated to have the highest ever spending on candy this Halloween season according to the National Retail Federation at $3.1 billion. Consumers plan to spend $100, on average, for Halloween candy, décor, cards and costumes. This is on par with the record of $103 set in 2021 and the second highest in the survey’s history.
