Los Angeles, California Real Estate Trends September 2022

On October 5, 2022, Realtor.com reported that in Los Angeles, California median list price was $1,049,500 in September of 2022 higher from $1,039,000 in August of 2022, and rose 8.0% from $970,000 in September of 2021. While, median sales price for a home and a condo was $950,000 in September of 2022, gained 3.0% from September of 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

Houses stayed 61.00 days in the market in September of 2022 up from 57.00 days in August of 2022, and grew from 55.00 days in September of 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

The median listing price per square foot of a home and a condo was $615.00 in September of 2022 increased from 609.00 in August of 2022, and jumped 5.0% from $585.00 in September of 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

I am surprised the listing price is still solid with longer days of marketing.  The higher interest rate does not affect home sales much with may be 1% yearly price erosion.  Marketing time is longer. For most years after the Great Recession, it was more like a few days.  Low end condo sees more price correction.  SF is having some problems as many high-tech workers have moved out and work anywhere in the US allowed.  The Tweeter cutback not announced will bring more reality to housing market.   All the best.
