Farm to Fort with David Garibaldi

Runnin for Rhett's inaugural Farm to Fort event was held last night. The event featured numerous local restaurants serving tasty bites of their fair along with samples of local wine, beer and spirits. Historic Sutter's Fort was the perfect cozy venue to enjoy the delightful fall evening and the night's entertainment, David Garibaldi's energetic painting of two American icons. His first painting was a very vibrant Mickey Mouse. It is amazing how Mr. Garibaldi uses broad brush strokes, flings paint at the canvas and, for lack of a better description, finger painting to create such unique artwork. How quickly can you guess the second icon Mr. Garibaldi created in this short video? Hint, he rotates the canvas 180 degrees for the final reveal.

DJ Eddie Z inspired many in the crowd to dance to his impressive collection of music from start to finish.

It was an eventful evening for everyone, especially the evening's beneficiary, Runnin for Rhett, who inspire us all to MOVE INTO LIFE! I am hopeful Farm to Fort will inspire for many years to come.

It sure is an engaging group, Lise Howe and Brian England sure knows how to motivate his ActiveRain friends. I have a lot to learn from him, but he is already starting to soften on his #NoPickleballForBrian stance and has definitely moved into the #mayberPickleballForBrian camp. We all realize that real estate agents understand maybe as an unequivocal YES! 😃

You may already know this, but I DID NOT want any part of a running group when Mary Margaret signed us up, but I was really wrong. In many ways Runnin for Rhett changed my life. I have never become friends with so many people so fast in my life. The picture above is just a small representation of my friends and each and every one of them are special. I will say it out loud, Joan Cox, I was wrong and my wife was right. This group represents the best of the best. (Of course, ActiveRain is right up there too!)

I liked the video. Many years ago I saw another artist called Denny Dent paint two paintings just with the same method. His was of Jimmy Hendrix and John Lennon. I was mesmerized by both artists! I think they are extraordinary artists.

Runnin for Rhett is a special group of people, Jeff Dowler, CRS. We are going to miss being a part of it on a weekly basis like we have done for the last 6 years or so.

It was a fun evening and I am hopeful that they make this an annual event.
