A Second on Ten Moment

Well, Sorta. . .

My Number Two November Challenge Post

Published on the Tenth

Anyone who even vaguely knows me, is aware that sports and I are not closely aligned.  Never in the past, likely not in the future. But that doesn't stop me from trying.

Though days of real estate-specific writing have been sidelined, parts of that history remain with me.  In fact, each of us brings forth a cumulative story with each day or with each post.  Interceptions as well as tackles can greet us whenever and wherever we hit the field. Why is the term "Hail Mary" coming to mind? This can't be a religious awakening, can it?

I attempt to make relevant points. Hence, second on ten as this post title suggests. I see a possible fumble in my future so I will take a time-out. However, I warn you, it will be brief.

Over my years on this planet and on this site, there have been combinations of moments experienced and lessons learned. Adaptability and adjustment are part of it some say.  And I can’t disagree. In fact, as you have read, I just did. And it's something I repeat. Often.

During recent AR seasons, I have studied the pondering playbook. Reaching a scoring moment is an admirable goal but other strategies may also be on the agenda. Let's face it, realizing the exact destination of any post (or a pass) may take is not always clear.  Just like life, we do the best we can.

I continue to be grateful that I can choose to adapt and adjust. I think it's important. Not easy but always necessary, nonetheless. In life, while visiting ActiveRainLand or wherever the pondering path leads.

Awww..Michael, my brain hurts thinking about your pondering post. Well, I'm sure this brain pain is "temporary." So, I'm taking a "time-out."

Is it Friday yet?

Michael Jacobs

Aura Alex - I find occasional "time outs" are good as they provide pause.  As for the headache, I am sorry - I hope it is better before Friday.

Michael Jacobs: several bosses in my corporate world told me that "Aura, you don't get headaches, you give them!" Can you imagine that?

Nov 10, 2022 05:24 PM
Michael Jacobs

Aura Alex - Yikes.  I can't imagine that comment from a boss.  Then I put myself in a time machine and recall situations from the past that while such commentary was unsaid might have been thought.  It's all part of the learning lesson that life teaches, right?

Endre Barath, Jr. - more importantly (at least for me) is the adapt and adjust part that occurs while pondering, posting or in real life.

Your adapt and adjust comment reminds me of a Clint Eastwood line in the movie, "Heartbreak Ridge". . ."You gotta improvise, adapt and overcome."

Myrl Jeffcoat - I can't say I remember any Clint Eastwood movie lines beyond "make my day".

Yes, adaptation and adjustment are critical in life - and in business. You have always been such an inspiration when it comes to both. Whether you love sports or not, your presence here is, indeed, iconic!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - the time out referenced in this post was a respite from the football references I was attempting to score while making a point.  Oops, it appears I have struck out as other comments have declared a knock-out of sorts.  I have two other posts for this challenge in the books this month if they make it beyond draft status successfully.

A point well made about adapting and adjusting. It's an integral part of daily life, like it or not. I suspect it's far better to not resist doing so, at least in most situations.

The stories, advice, and history do make us adapt and adjust  at times Michael Jacobs (hopefully). I have often said that the education here is much more valuable then any other Real Estate information I received in formal training.

Bob "RealMan" Timm - when I look back at my real estate training, it's really about licensing.  I wish I "knew" that earlier - it would have made life after entering the field so much better.  Lessons learned.  And they continue. . .

Ahhhhh..growing pains of life definitely include adaptation and adjustment. We all find these necessary as we move through our learning lessons in life. You always make relevant points and make us all pause and ponder..you're quite good with that. Debe Maxwell, CRS said it best your presence here in the Rain is iconic..and you know I thrive on iconic.
