Grateful, Proud, and Full of Joy
You know your cup is full when you find it difficult trying to choose a topic for the November 2022 Thanksgiving Gratitude Challenge.
This one was a no-brainer for me and I’m sure no surprise to you. I am so GRATEFUL that our Houston Astros proved to be the champions we all knew they were. Last Saturday they became the 2022 World Series Champions.
I am thankful for ActiveRain friends like Carol Williams, Dorie Dillard Austin TX, Hannah Williams, Will Hamm, and others who reminded me to breathe during the game!
I am PROUD at how the team and all of the fans showed that we can win and still remember our Texan/southern hospitality and manners.
And finally, I am FULL OF JOY, like a proud mama watching her children play a game they love with so much fervor and still have fun while they do it. These players are the definition of teamwork, and that transcended beyond the field.
For many years, football has been my #1 sport, NFL and college level. However, for the past few years, I’ve been less than enthusiastic about the NFL. I still love watching a well-played football game but so far, none has given me as much JOY as I received when I watched the Houston Astros.
I’m not sure what will happen in the off-season. As we know, nothing stays forever. However, I thank the Houston Astros for what they’ve given our city.
