5 Housing Markets at ‘Very High’ Risk of Falling

By
Real Estate Agent with TOUCHSTONE REAL ESTATE

I read a lot and like keeping up on trends and market information, the other day an article in Money Talk News got my attention.  The title “5 Housing Markets at ‘Very High’ Risk of Falling” in the article it says more than 70% probability of it happening and the fact they used data from Corelogic which I know and trust, I was kind of involved with them in my past.

Some of these areas I know nothing about in the state of Washington and Oregon but one of the 5 is in Florida, Crestview-Fort Walton Beach-Destin.  Florida in general has had astronomical growth the past few year so understand a cooling off of the market but a 70% probability can be scary.

One of local agents in Destin says mortgage applications have dropped 50% and insurance cost has soared since Hurricane Ian and now as of today Hurricane Nicole bearing down on the Atlantic coast, oh joy!  Here is the balance of the list:

Tacoma, Washington

Eugene, Oregon

Bellingham, Washington

Bremerton-Silverdale, Washington

Buckle up the ride might get bumpy!

Good morning Dick. The Villages is indeed insulated from drastic market swings which continues to draw interest in good tie and bad. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Dick... I read this somewhere, as well. At the end of the day, I was not surprised.

Good morning Dick,

I read a similar article and I'm not surprised at all. We do have to remember real estate is local but there is going to be a bumpy ride even if it's not on a grand scale like it will be for some areas.

Kat Palmiotti I wouldn't be happy if my area was featured, there is enough bad news already and don't want it piled on!

Hi Dick- I think we've been expecting this but it's interesting to see what areas they predicted would drop. Watching the weather...be safe.
