 It is hard to believe we are already half way through 2008, so this was a good time to look back to see how the real estate market has done so far.

When this report was pulled on June 30th there were over 70 listings on the market.    So far, between the town of Red Hook and the village about 25 homes have sold over the last six months.  How does this compare to 2007?  In 2007 for the entire year 63 properties sold therefore 2008 sales is not lagging too much behind.

Very often I am asked;  how is the market? is anything selling? yes properties are selling it is just taking a little longer.

If you are planning to put your property on the market you will have stiff competition so it is important to start out with a realistic price in order to achieve a competitive edge.

Great market report for Red Hook. You always do such a great job on your market area.  It seems like you still have homes that are selling, it sure seems like a nice area to me.

Lynda - Thank you.  When comparing sales to last year the number of sales is clos,so I think Red Hook is on track to close the same or more listing this year.  But then again this is real estate you just never know.

George - Actual Red Hook is is on track to sell as many homes as last year.  Yes the inventory is high and I suspect some sellers will do what it takes to get more competitive.
