Blogging Tips - My Best 'To-Dos' in Any Market
Thanks to Jeff Dowler, CRS & Brian England for hosting this month's fabulous challenge. I have enjoyed reading the entries so far and love learning what others have found beneficial (and taboo!) from their blogging experience.
My best tips came from our very own Ben Kinney - Market Report Templates & Sharing Them with Past-Buyers.
TEMPLATES - Why reinvent the wheel, right?! Set your templates for each neighborhood you represent (or want to represent), giving a little information about the community and solid market stats. Some add schools and other local information such as local restaurants, parks, etc.
The thing to remember about your templates is that once they are set, your readers know what to expect. Not only that but, our time is so valuable and creating these templates makes our lives so much easier the following months/years because we have those templates SET - it's easy-peasy!
One other tip with regards to the market reports - If your MLS is Matrix, using the interactive links to embed in your reports, makes them even easier to put together. Buyers and sellers alike, enjoy watching the trends - especially when it's hyperlocal - THEIR neighborhood or complex. I have found that these market reports draw more eyes than other posts.
SHARING - We can pinpoint where our clients live and share our reports with them. I recently had a former buyer (4 years) who was sent a link to their neighborhood market report for the month. That buyer replied to the email with the link to the report by asking if I remembered what they paid for their home - that the equity they have in their home is now "unbelievable!" They thanked me for keeping them up on the market trends and shared that they would likely be in their home a couple more years.
One never knows how long someone will be in their home, but, I've been 'reminding' them that I am the one with the knowledge for 4 years - every single month. How? By sharing a market report that is specific to THEM!
