LOCALISM FEATURED: Work and Play in Weston FL

Weston Florida was established as a city in 1996. Most of the community was developed by Arvida/JMB Partners and is located near the western development boundary of Broward County.

We have many pro atheletes who live here such as Dan Marino,Jeff Conine,Tony Fernandez,Bartolo Colon and Hanley Ramirez just to name a few.

The West Broward Family YMCA is an awesome place to meet friends and get in a good workout. The YMCA is located in Weston FL It provides all different types of sporting activities. It also is a great place to meet people socially who live in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Olympic size pool provides swimming lessons and there is also a mini water tot lot. The YMCA also has a summer camp on site for all your children's needs.

The facility is located within Weston Regional Park . The park itself houses baseball fields, soccer fields, roller hockey, and outdoor basketball courts. The YMCA also has two indoor courts.

If you are looking for a little relaxation then Weston Town Center has all the attributes you are looking for. With it's chic art deco look and the different variety of stores gives it that exciting atmosphere for all the residents and visitors of Weston FL.

Weston Town Center offers a variety of executive suites available for immediate occupancy. For the business that needs a comfortable atmosphere along with the convenience of travel to and from work or just saving time doing all of your grocery shopping at Publix which is directly within the complex.

There's always time to relax on mainstreet for a cup of coffee at the local Starbucks or a cocktail across the street at Swig Martini Bar.

Many people are moving to the city of Weston because of the fine variety of attractions available within Weston's Town Center.

In 2007 ....Weston FL was voted in the top 100 best places to live.

Neal- This is a great post about Weston. I have been there a couple of times. I like your photos too!

Neal WOW the pool is amazing, that thing is as big as a lake. You probably could canoe or kayak in it.

Neal, I would agree about the pool size. Very impressive for a YMCA. Excellent facility

Hi Neal, A wonderful and informative local post. I have to add this. You would laugh at the hundreds of times living here in San Diego I have said, I sure wish their was a Publix out here. I am not complaining but trust me when I say, if you get used to Publix, the food selections, produce and the service and then come here, you will be hard pressed to find it here.

The YMCA is a big hit with everyone! I have a client who keeps saying that I can go on their walks with them...you think he may be telling me something :) :) And look at that pool!!!! Now that's a pool.

Publix and Starbucks! Can't lose (hope you aren't losing your Starbucks...). I remember the Arvida name from back when I worked for the developers who built MANY condos on Longboat Key (70's/80's).

My family love the Weston YMCA....right down the rad from my home...I use it 3-4 times a week in the early hours before work.

weston Towncenter provides many restaurants...live bands and enertainement,craft shows...many areas of shopping and great food. I love the Martini bar too.

I'm a little confused exactly where Weston is (I know I could go look it up but I choose to ask you). Sounds like a nice town with lots to offer. Great photos.

It's located between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Really considered Ft. Lauderdale or practically in the everglades. Very upscale area to live.

Good job in being voted in top 100, my little town of Saline was too.
