This Week…Clean Slates
We’ve made it through the first week of the first month of a brand New Year!!!!
Every time you tear a leaf off a calendar, you present a new place for new ideas and progress. Charles Kettering
Even though things and life doesn’t stop at 11:59 PM on December 31 and then pick up at midnight on January 1, the New Year always seems like life is giving us a huge broom to sweep out the old to make room for the new.
Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day. Dalai Lama
This week the de-holiday process began at home. As much as I love the twinkle lights and other decorations, once I begin the process, I’m ready to pack it all up. Extra cookies were frozen…waiting at the ready when we need some small sweet treat.
We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.
Joseph Campbell
Back in the days when we kept things on paper, such as our calendars, I loved changing everything over at the beginning of the year.
The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you’re not going to stay where you are.

Many began their clean eating program this week. Some began their gym memberships. Me? I’m still doing what I usually do…and packing up my decorations!
Have a wonderful weekend!
