29 Comments on Bullseye...when a Realtor and A Professional Stager Teams up
Kym,
I am working on a staging business and frankly am getting nowhere. I have had the idea of teaming with a realtor and or office. How did you go about it? What are some do's and don'ts? It's wonderful to hear of your success. I would love to learn from you.

Elaine - so true. There is only one Terrylynn :) Maybe we can clone her and send that one to Denver for you.
Miss Mona - how the heck are you? So nice to hear from you. I am glad everything is well up in my old stomping grounds. If at all possibly you should come to our Bay Area Expo on the 17th of this month. We would love to see you!
Pam - oh my that is a big order :) It takes a bit of patience, lots of Realtor presentations and follow-up and marketing, marketing, marketing. You need a to find a Realtor who believes in staging and then sell them on you and your services. Differentiate yourself from all the others. Add lots of service to your package. Become an expert in your field and find out all you can about the Realtor's world so you can be an added value to them. Market, market, market yourself and you will get there. Don't give up. Kym
Kim~ I Love it! I wish I had that here in Kentucky! There aren't any staging companies here that I am aware of. I had to take a class to learn what I could myself, but I would much rather team up with a stager.
You never know who the buyer will be, We have one opportunity to put our best foot forward with our listings and showning.
Staging and a Realtor make an excellence team.
My assistant wants to be a stager- how can I help her? What classes does she need to take? I think it's a great idea to have a stager working with you- would help me get more listings and get offers quicker than my competition.
Hi Kym, In our market, Stagers rule!!! Thanks for sharing!
Mary Jo, In my 6 years of Staging the best program I have ever found by far is the CSP program, Certified Staging Professional. I took it from Christine Rae who is amazing and the founder of the company. I have taken it twice. I highly recommend your assistant check it out as it will change your business 100%.
Yvette, thanks for your comments - you are so right!
Only 2 weeks on the market before getting a listing in this market is incredible. You guys must be doing something right. Congratulations!
Wow...Mona, great to see you here...Please try to come to Expo, would love to catch up. And how's your sister...hope all is well with you. Thanks for the really kind words.
And Elaine, you are a treasure, thanks as always for your support.
Good for you! Sounds like you are a leader in your market. I believe staging is here to stay.
Congrats on the success story! I think Terrylynn would be a hoot to work with!
Kym and Terrylynn- Congrats on an excellent job and getting that home sold.. God bless,
I couldn't agree with you more. I have 2 such wonderful realtors and they too would not list without my services. Together all their listings have SOLD and in todays market that is GREAT. Having a realtor see the value of staging is the first step to success

Lisa - it was just two DAYS!!! Even better than 2 weeks!
Tori - hoot is the word. We get dopey by the end but we laugh alot and Bob is always there when we need an ice cream to keep us going :)
Phyliss - you should blog about them. They are the most valuable asset in our industry!
Kym
Kym and Terrylynn, DYNAMIC DUO!
Kym,
I'm prejudiced but I think all Realtors should team up with stagers just as all surgeons team up with anesthesiologists.
Selling an unstaged home is a bit like doing surgery without anesthisizing the patient. It can be done but, it makes the process go much slower and there's a lot more screaming!
I just had the greatest time a couple of weeks ago Staging with a couple of realtors, one of whom has taken some staging classes. We had a ball, they have a winning formula for how they market and price homes and the end result was that after only 3 days on the market, the homeowners got a full price offer that is already pending. Even in this market, miracles happen!
Susan - I love it. Especially the screaming part! When we are a team everything goes more smoothly and we really make the REALTOR look good :)
Hi Nancy - looking forward to seeing you on the 17th
Janis - so happy that things are picking up in Oregon. Sounds like you had a ball...you need to write a blog about that experience. Kym
What a combination...a realtor/stager, and a stager working together - a very powerful team to get a house sold! Keep up the awesome work, and spread the word!

You bet Wendy - I can't believe anyone would do it any different :)
