Sales Marketing Demands that you have an "All of thee Above" plan

Sales is the backbone of our nation.  The power of persuasion is actually the art of selling.  Real Estate just like any other industry that depends on sales have most things in common.  I teach and preach the "all of thee above" method when explaining the best means to success in sales.

The number one thing to keep in mind when it comes to marketing is that emails are free to send out.  That is why I get everyone's email address and include them in my database.  Everyone gets included on my monthly Newsletter.  I set all contacts up in different categories such as social clubs, buyers, sellers, past-clients, sphere of influence..  This way I can send out some items geared specifically to certain groups if the information is more useful to that group.

I also like to send out about five hundred letters about four to six times per year.  I will "always" include something of value such as a Flag-pin on the 4th of July or Memorial Day.  Sometimes I'll include a Candy Cane on Christmas.

Calling is by far that most tedious and time consuming means of marketing.  However, it is the most effective.  Personal Contact is by far the most productive way to create new business.  Texting is preferred by many people.  You should get everyone's cell number too.

I began my real estate career in 1996 after a lifetime in retail business.  There are two styles of salespersons.  The one that I am is the one-on-one sales method.  The one that is most effective is the Social Butterfly.  I am not comfortable working in this manner.  Those that are good at it will make the most money in the long term.  Trying to work in a manner that is not comfortable will lead to a very short career.  It is essential to have a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and a Blog Postings on ActiveRain.  It is also best to have an account on all other social media sites.  These insure you the best opportunity to be searchable online on sites such as Google or Bing..

The most underrated part of sales is knowing how essential a great reputation is in lasting through good times as well as bad times.  Most might not realize that we work together many times more often than we compete with each other.  Don't burn your bridges as we all seem to eventually need each other in the future.  Embrace Changing Technology, attend meetings, continue to learn, and sign up for Zoom Meetings.  Also learn the meaning of "List to Last."

We in sales, although not needing years of higher education, have the chance to make as much or more money as Doctors, Lawyers, and CPA's .  Be thankful and help future generations of people joining our profession.  Pride makes what we do for a living a Career rather that just a Job.

Hello Tony - I like how you included the pride part of your plan for ways to becoming successful.

It was a career in the retail world that preceded life in real estate as well.  Although I have known a few who entered this industry as a first career choice, it's far more common to find work experience elsewhere.  I enjoyed your entry.
