In the movie Field of Dreams the motto was "If you build it they will come".
It`s the same with a home in a competitive market.
Our new motto when selling a home is "If you clean it,they will come", actually came true yesterday for our client.The home has been listed twice, and has been on the market for over a year.


The home is priced to sell, yet it has remained on the market for no reason,except one!


The home is located in Homestead, it was in dire need of a good cleaning.
The seller refused to believe it, in fact they fought with us over this issue.
Sometimes, it`s easier to take things into your own hands.
Rather than debate the client we contacted a cleaning service who did a fantastic job in cleaning the home "Top to Bottom", they scrubbed the floors, cleaned the dust from the window sills,every chair and table wiped clean. The home now is presentable for people to view.

The seller called last night "Thanking Us" for undertaking a job they couldn`t.

Just like the movie, i`m hoping people will arrive and place an offer on the home now that it`s ready to be shown!

If you clean it, I`m positive it will sell...

Cleaning a house prior to selling it?  What a novel idea.  Sometimes the most obvious of tactics need to be used.  Dirty houses take longer to sell I am sure.  Some buyers can see past even dirt but in this market why take the chance since mint is selling quicker.

It is baffling what some clients will fight you on... I've been in homes that were so bad I felt like burning my clothes afterwards, while a crisp, clean home stands out from the crowd and is much easier to sell/  Congrats!

You would think "clean" would be a common sense tactic for any seller but that is not always the case. I too have been tempted to actually go help the sellers clean myself but I guess the cleaning service was a better idea.

I think one of the problems is perception. I have gone to a seller's home and they told me they have been cleaning and I will look around and theink, "where?"

Cleaning and just simple lawn maintenance can improve the APPEARANCE so much, it is easier to sell, no matter the condition.

That was nice of you to get a cleaning company in there to do it since they were not willing to clean up.  I think a clean house makes a huge difference and it will definitely stand out to prospective buyers now!  Hope you sell it quickly!
