Located in central Texas, the tiny town of Round Top becomes an antiques mecca! Dealers from all over the county descend upon this quaint, adorable place. Dotted with historic farmhouses the gentle hillsides become an antique tent city.
Twice a year, this show transforms the quiet town into a bustling collection of vendors and visitors. Typically the Spring show occurs at the end of March through the first week of April. The Fall show happens in late October through the first of November.
Before you go, you should take note of the following:
1. This show is comprised of many different shows all over the area. Therefore, it is important to go with a veteran who knows the ropes. Where to park, where to eat, etc.
2. Understand that this show means LOTS of walking. Although the cute, Texas boots are the rage, by the end of the day your feet will be screaming.
3. Also, the Texas weather can and is unpredictable. I have seen torrential downpours, freezing cold, or boiling hot weather at these shows. Make sure you are prepared for it all.
4. Book your accomodations EARLY! Places fill up super early so planning ahead of time is critical.
5. Plan for bringing your finds home. I rent a U-Haul so I can bring my treasures back. I usually take a group of friends so having this truck provides them a way to get their things back.
I look forward to this show and love taking groups of girlfriends. It is a time to shop and to re-connect. Bring your big hat, your sunglasses, and a pair of super comfy shoes. See you there.
