New Hospital Coming to San Antonio Southside Means Jobs..Homes..Business Expansion

GREAT NEWS FOR SAN ANTONIO TEXAS What does this mean for San Antonio Southside....JOBS....HOUSING....SHOPPING = EXPANSION

A deal three years in the making will put a $100 million hospital project at the heart of Brooks City-Base, where it will be the largest tenant.

Baptist Health System purchased 28 acres to build a hospital and two office buildings that Brooks development officials hope will turn a large part of the former Air Force base into medical and biotech magnet that will reinvent the South Side.

Southeast Baptist Hospital at Brooks City-Base and two accompanying medical office buildings will represent hundreds of medical jobs and draw more medical businesses in the future.

"This project with Baptist is going to redefine the South Side.

Brooks City-Base is selling and leasing parts of the 1,400-acre former military base as the Air Force moves out through 2011. DPT Laboratories has a major research facility there with nearly 150 employees. What does this mean for San Antonio Southside....JOBS....HOUSING....SHOPPING = EXPANSION Now the work begins...Baptist will now begin the process of researching how many rooms and staff are needed. You will see businesses and housing begin to grow in this area

That is great news for our city, Carl!

Dale - Yip...but Ceil had to do it. I really like the blue. Said she still has to learn to put the pictures on without loosing the HTML. She's getting pretty good at figuring some of this stuff out with your help and Kevin's.

Michael - This new hospital really is great news for the southside of San Antonio.

Shirley - Expect to see some growth in that area, it's-a-coming. We grew up on the southside and when we first married we purchased our first home off Pecan Valley and Goliad Rd. so know that area very well.

Carl and Ceil,

As usual you're right on top of things. Great information and heads up. They really do need to do something to bring the southside back up. Most time and area needing updating is forgotten, this is not one of them times. I hope to meet with you guys for a listing and inspection in the future.
