Well, it happened again.  We had a huge storm pass through out area (Scio township) and the power is out and I'm sure that is true for the Keller Williams Dexter as well.  If you are showing homes North of Jackson Road up to lovely lake area, Pinckney, Michigan, most of us don't have power and traffic lights are out.

I realize today how lucky we are that this is the only problem we have now.  There is not flooding in our homes and streets, just the discomfort of not having power at the office and our homes.

My heart goes out to those who have forest fires to deal with as well as the terrible floods.

Please remember those in need and my little discomfort makes me remember those who are really dealing with difficulty.

12 Comments on Storms hit and we are out of power! Thinking of others...

Karen that is becoming a common occurence here in southern Michigan this year.  We missed the storm last night as it only dumped a lot of rain.  One of my rental properties had problems with lightning doing some damage to the electrical.  It turned out to be fairly simple and inexpensive to fix

Karen, sorry to hear you're being hit with bad weather!  Much of the upper midwest has been experiencing this stuff during the past month.

Karen,

I hate to tell you this but they just turned the lights out in Michigan. It's closed

Karen,

I can make that remark because I'm a Native and I know how bad it is there. I am from Grand Rapids but I lived off of Silver Lake Road 14 years ago and the power was always going off then, I think it's the infastructure.

Hi Karen...Hope the power came back on hours and hours ago.

What has been happening in the MidWest reminds me of the three weeks I spent volunteering with the Red Cross in Mississippi after Katrina.

Hope you all have a dry Fourth of July.  Enjoy and stay safe.

Kathleen

Karen, Happy 4th... Y'all can send some of that rain down this way, as we can certainly use it... Glad to hear that all went OK!

Hope the lights are back on for you.  It's been a odd weather season.  This is the second time this year that you guys downstate on the west have been hit hard - but at least not the heavy rains of the last system.  Hope all goes well.  July 4th and we had overnight temps in the 30's.  Last year was heat and drought.  The glories of life in Michigan!

Karen - we all have different "natural" issues with weather in different parts of the country.  No matter what it is it affects us all!

The previous storm hit the Birmingham Bloomfield area.  We were without power in our homes for 5 1/2 days.  Many business were out for that length of time.

This year we're getting a built in generator because this has happened too many times to us.

Gee! We're struggling with out of control heat here in northern CA. I was heading back from an appointment yesterday and it was 108 degrees. Tried to stay inside today, but it was supposed to be about the same.

These darned storms keep knocking out my cable -- I missed the season opener of Burn Notice!! Seriously, the little inconveniences that irk us should definitely make us think of those dealing with catastrophic weather and send our prayers and support in any way we can. Thanks for the reminder -- cable out=minor deal.
