Remember Bart?

I am referring to Bart Simpson's famous line:

If you didn't/don't know Bart Simpson, like Joe doesn't know Brownie in Timmothy's comic strip, you would assume Bart and Brownie were innocent because they are both small and cute. Truth be told they are both devious.

In Real Estate it is easy to play "the blame game" but it is seldom productive to anyone other than the egomaniac (good thing there are none of those in RE).

I always liked the old adage that when you point your finger there are three pointing back at you.

good lesson to not play the blame game - more productive to just go into problem solving mode

The blame game does not work well in real estate.

I hope you are having an outstanding week.

You are absolutely right Lise Howe . When things go wrong with a transaction that is the only thing to do.

When I was kid I had a cousin whose response was always "I didn't do it and I won't do it again!"

And then there was the boy who used to play with my sons. No matter what happened, even if it was no big deal, his first words were "I didn't do it." I couldn't stand that kid.

Timmothy has a couple more on Titus & Philemon's guest (Brownie) before he takes off. It's either today's or Mondays that really made me laugh out loud.

I'm certain it was Bart.  Rodents can do a lot of damage if they want to.🙃

Rodents can do a lot of damage Myrl Jeffcoat . My last home was a big old house that was difficult to seal up. One time we discovered a mouse moved into our silverware drawer and just in that one evening he must have spent in there he sure made a mess.

Thank you again for the feature in the Old Farts Club. It doesn't seems like the Simpsons have been around nearly as long as they have but Bart has to be about 25 years old these days.

I have always been careful in my communication and have been taught to never point a finger at anyone.  It's true ... when you point your finger there are three fingers pointing back at you.  Ouch!

You are to be commended for your proper thinking Diana Dahlberg as should those who taught you to think that way. Had I listened to my Grandmothers advice my path would have been so much smoother then the bumpy road I chose.

But you paved your road "your way" right?  And the end result has been good for you?  We all have our side roads and crooked roads and deadend streets to travel.  This is what give us our character! Thanks for your nice response Bob "RealMan" Timm

There is a practice we put in our large family years ago:  No matter how difficult it can be, no matter what, always be truthful, always tell the truth to one another.  And Bob, you know what, - it just simplified our lives.  Sometimes we took a deep breath first and then went on to the truth... And I think with that I even forgot about the 'blame game.'  First step...just own up.

That is a great practice Jane Chaulklin-Schott and every family should adopt it if they haven't. I believe the truth be told may have saved my brother form chemical dependency as opposed to the life of enabling my parents gave that helped lead to his death.

Jane Chaulklin-Schott my folks died 20 years before my brother who died last year. I tried to help my brother out of chemical dependence many times over the years but I gave up several years ago. I did not know the man anymore. My sister made sure his remains were taken care of but there was no funeral or mourners.

Bob "RealMan" Timm , so sorry to hear of your brother.  Sending love and prayers to you and your family.  I lost my eldest son a little over a year ago and his 8 brothers and sisters and I still have a hole in our hearts that perhaps will never go away, even with time.  We are happy for him as he went to join his father.  Daily I write to him in my notebook labeled:  Letters to Heaven.  And daily he comes, visits me and helps me with my studies and research.
Bob, I feel it might be harder to deal with a death that was sad and perhaps preventable.  My son lived in the Philippines and on a rainy night, while visiting friends, he slipped at the top of about 30 slippery stone and cement steps, no bannister and fell to the side off the steps to the ground.  He survived the fall, but internal injuries and died two days after in the hospital.  I am thinking you and your parents found it difficult to deal with your loss also.
