Rays Reign

Being a life long Red Sox fan and member of the nation, I was extremely disappointed to watch our local nine drop three straight to the Tampa Bay Rays.  Normally a three game series with Tampa would have had a much more positive outcome than a sweep.  This year however things appear to be different.  Tampa has great starting pitching, a better than average bullpen, and a strong lineup.  More importantly for Tampa, at least up until now, they have been playing the game with high energy and an obvious level of fun.  They are certainly for real!  I must say even I enjoyed watching them having a great time.  I look at players like Carl Crawford, who has been with the Rays for the last nine years, and am genuinely happy to see him in the midst of a playoff caliber team in a pennant race.   Now is a great time to watch this team before the pressure of August and September hit.  They have a likable group of players and a honest and upbeat manager.  Whether or not they remain in first in the east or make the wild card it sure is nice to see another team in the running besides the dreaded Yankees.  The Rays are good for the AL East and better for MLB.  Back to reality though Go Sox beat the Yankees this weekend!!!

Great attitude Ken, especially for a Sox fan! As an Angels fan and incurable supporter of underdogs everywhere (I admit those two haven't gone hand in hand for the last few years), I am loving those Rays! I'll also be rooting on your Sox against the Evil Yankee Empire this weekend.   :-)

I cannot believe the Rays are for real...but they've knocked out the White Sox, Red Sox and Cubs in the last month in their building......that saddest part is that no one there seems to care....MOVE THAT TEAM to somewhere where 65 isn't the average demographic!!
