How Can We Keep Working With A Pandemic?

Reblogger Lise Howe
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital Properties DC AB15253

I like to look back over blog posts that I have bookmarked through the years here in the rain - and I saw this one this morning.  It's nearly 3 years since the pandemic first began to dance at the edge of our consciousness.  I remember how the world shut down on March 13 - just as my daughter flew to Siesta Key with a small suitcase to spend a few days with a friend and his family - she stayed 6 months!  and now she is marrying him in November!

So very much was unknown back then.  Obviously we weren't sure what the virus was or where it was coming from - but more importantly - we weren't sure how it was going to affect all of us professionally and personally.

For those of us still standing, we have survived.  I think it is a testament to our ability to adapt that has kept us working and generally thriving.  There are always bad days, bad weeks and perhaps even a bad month or two - but we know that we can adapt and thrive.  That is a helpful message to take with us as the press bombards us with gloom and doom.  COVID was not WWII in London during the blitz, but it was a challenge and we are stronger for it when we stop to recognize that we made it through some dark months.  Yes - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger - and COVID is a good example of that.

Have a great week

The Oregon Association of Realtors is Posting Ideas

I was asked last Wednesday to produce a video of how we can keep working during the Covid-19 pandemic. This was broadcast to all the agents in Oregon this morning.  When we are dealing with challenging times, we have to adapt and be flexible in order to keep working.  I am honored that I was asked to do this and hope it provides ideas to others dealing with unprecedented times.

Having the world shut down was such a bad thing, the whole thing seems like a big scam to me, haha.

Joan Cox - I remember when DC finally allowed open houses again they said we couldn't have more than 50 people in the hosue at the same time.  Like anyone wants an open house with 50 people at the same time.

Lise:

We certainly learned some valuable lessons, for business and in life. So many things had to change, and quickly, but we made it happen for our families, our colleagues and our clients. Lynnea Miller did a great job on her video - seems so long ago!

Unfortunately, our nation was misinformed from the so called experts (the science, NAID, and Fauci) and because we were uninformed, we relied on their solutions to keep us healthy and strong.

Additionally, IMO, the media was just as corrupt by failing to challenge the science while suppressing the disagreements and accuracy of the pandemic and its solutions.

Finally, IMO, our media and many in our government has lost all credibility and truthfulness in reporting the facts. Seems like everything newsworthy has more to do with reporting opinions and speculation rather than the facts. Hopefully, the lessons from the pandemic will prevent another catastrophe from occurring again.

I too think about what life was like when the pandemic first started--and how much lives have changed since then.  Oddly I had a good year of business in 2020!
