Sally.  There are about a dozen antique shops in Purcellville.  I'm going to do a post about just them in a day or so.

Ann.  Thanks.  You too.

Lenn, I put up a blog one day about chickens like the ones pictured in your blog.  I called them Arkansas folk art, assuming they were made on the site.  Later I found they are made in Mexico and brought into the states. (Probably from old Volkswagen parts.)  But I still love them.  They are neat!

Hi Lenn, PURCELLVILLE looks like a very quaint place that I love. There is something so Americana about it and it feels like a great place to live. The housing there as I remeber was reasonably affordable too. A Saturday morning strolling the shops would be fun, as long as I can get to a feed store. I would want a horse ranch property, as you remember,:-)

Lenn I have read a number of your blogs and most of the house seem to have huge lots, so those riding lawn mowers look like they would be a MUST to me.

Lenn - well this is great eyecandy for the Internet reader, too. What a neat town. I can't even imagine lots of 3 acres here near the California coast, and inland that is an estate in the $10M range. I love antiques and visiting antique shops - you have provided a great source of info for your buyers.

Have a fabulous 4th.

Jeff

My husband would have to drag me back to the car if I was there.  I never met a thrift shop that didn't intrigue me.  BTW, that rooster is awesome!

Lenn, this looks like my kind of little town! I like being able to run to the grocery store and run into people I know! That's real small town charm. Next time I'm driving through I will call you! We can go shopping together! Sounds like fun.

This type of sidewalk activity is what is missing in White Plains and is often why I frequent different villages for some of my shopping needs.  So many towns now have a "sanitized" appearence and no character.  That sense of community is no longer there.  Purcellville is a great town that has tons of character.
