Fastnachts are German/ PA Dutch tradition on
Fat Tuesday. In German their name means “fast nite”
or the night before Ash Wednesday when Lenten
fast begins . Fastnachts are eaten before and during
the Lenten season. They come plain , powder sugared
or glazed . I eat about 3 donuts per year , but always
celebrate Fastnacht Day with a 2fer !

I have not heard of those, but I will look for them today and see if I can't have one before Lent begins!

Hello Michael, My family in Lehigh county is making them this morning and my mom in her restaurant years ago would make over 1000 of them for customers
It's a good excuse to eat a couple of donuts! I'd do the same thing if I knew where to find some that look that good.
