Neighborhood Information

The town of Tubac in Arizona, known as "Art and History Mix," provides easy access to a bygone era of grandeur. There are plenty of properties with stunning vistas of the mountains, and residents can easily reach restaurants, malls, airports, hospitals, and more via the neighboring I-19 highway.

Like its close neighbors, most properties in Santa Cruz County are not governed by HOAs, and the general crime rate is considerably lower than that of other suburban areas nationally and statewide. All the ingredients for the ideal Arizona lifestyle are present here, including year-round golf, quick access to hiking and bike trails, nice weather, an abundance of art galleries, a wide variety of restaurants providing delectable meals, and a laid-back, small-town vibe.

Visitors of Tubac will pass through the town's 'gates,' which proclaim, "Where art and history meet," and proudly display the flags of Spain, Mexico, the United States of America, the State of Arizona, and Tubac, all of which have flown above the hamlet at various times throughout her European past. Tubac was the earliest European colony in Arizona and had every right to make that claim. In 1752, the area was officially recognized as the Royal Spanish Presidio San Ignacio De Tubac. San Francisco was established in 1775 by Captain Juan Bautista De Anza, who oversaw an expedition of 240 colonists from Tubac to California. And under C. D. Poston, Tubac was the hub for a silver mining operation in the 1850s.

The Santa Cruz River Valley riparian region runs the length of Tubac and serves as the picturesque focal point of the surrounding Santa Cruz Valley. It is one of the few rivers in the continental United States that flows from south to north. Birdwatchers from all over the world have found this haven. Tubac is a center of culture and history with famous landmarks, historic locations, and modern cultural structures. More than 100 art galleries, gift stores, home décor businesses, jewelers, potters, and artist shops may be found here. Some of the locations and relics from these events are shown and preserved in regional museums. The town has a long history that dates back to the Colonial period.

Tubac, which primarily serves as a bedroom community, has some of the most excellent residential properties in the area. There are many well-built developments spread out across the neighborhood. Buyers interested in the region can access master-planned golf complexes, private cul-de-sac subdivisions, and classic residential areas with affordable properties.
