Nope not talking French Fries talking weed killer. The good news I built a 700-square foot paver patio a few years ago, the bad news I built a paver patio. Before you start with I should’ve let me explain my process, dug out all top soil, spray all vegetation killer, put down landscaping screen, put 4 to 6 inches of base, 2” of sand, place pavers and sweep sand on top to fill the voids. Guess what I get weeds and grass growing between the pavers, not coming from below the 6 to 8 inches rather in those tiny little areas between the pavers. Oh, before you say concrete, that takes “Architectural Review Committee” and maybe a permit, pavers are considered landscaping so no permission needed.
I am not a fan of the store-bought weed killer, read to many possible health problems so now I use a very safe and CHEAP weed and grass killer, vinegar! My recipe is simple, gallon of vinegar, cup of salt, a squirt of Dawn Dishwashing soap, put in my garden sprayer, shake and kill stuff and it works wonders. Side benefits ants hate vinegar so they leave the area, vinegar is environmentally friendly, bad thing when done I smell like a pickle!
