Day before yesterday it was looking pretty cloudy outside.  I was told many years ago that if you want it to rain you need to throw out some salt.  Things have been pretty dry here ( an understatement!) so I raced out with a big hand full of salt, and sure enough within about 15 minutes we had a downpour, almost a half inch!  Now I am not saying that my participation in this old wives tale did the trick but until we pull out of this dry spell I think I am going to burn thru a little salt!  If any of you are in this area maybe you should try it too.  With enough salt we might be able to bring on some more precipitation, of course we should be careful or we might get a record rainfall of 18" if we are not careful.

Good morning Deb- did you check the forecast before you threw the salt? Have a great fourth of July.

Deb, people who don't live in Texas must think we're nuts, but we'll do almost ANYTHING to get it to rain! It's pretty dry here in Fort Worth as well. We visited the Hill Country in the spring to check out the bluebonnets and it was extremely dry down there. I was surprised. Have a great 4th! Buy more salt!

Now, Deb, hate to tell you this, but it wasn't the salt. It was the rain dance we sent from Missouri special delivery to Texas.
