The time is drawing near...our final announcement for the top 3 teams is on Monday July 7, 2008. We're biting our nails and twisting our hair and jumping up and down waiting for the final announcement. The Makeover2Takeover contest has been a real hoot! It has reminded me a bit of what a "virtual bootcamp" might be!
"Drop to the floor and give me 200 push-ups!" Thank goodness this is virtual.
We have learned that there is nothing we can't do when the desire is there to do so! Active Rain and all who are involved (?) have really given us the incentive to stretch and grow and improve our prospective businesses.
We have found each other to be friends...not competitors. We have found ourselves dreaming and hoping and supporting and wishing the best to our circle of friends within the contest. Of the six teams that remain, only three teams will be left standing on Monday afternoon.
Whether we must say goodbye or "YeeHaa, yea rah" this has been an honor for all of us! This must be an incredibly difficult chore for the decision makers.
Just remember...EVERYONE DESERVES TO GO! And, wear flowers in your hair!

Deb, if you are going to SF and Inman Connect hook up with Mara Hawks of Auburn, AL. She is going. Have a great time and let us know how it is. Love the Flowers in the Hair song. I could see you playing that old hippie role ; ) Such a free spirit!! HAPPY 4th.
Deb - I hope you and Melissa make it to the "big show" at Inman. One of the reasons that I chose not to participate in the challenge was that I knew we wouldn't be able to travel to SF. Take care and have a great holiday weekend! I, too, have always liked that song.
Gary, I never "lived" that sort of thing...but it looks intriguing. I loved the shot of John Lennon in the video. Happy 4th to you too!
Jason, You would have gone no doubt! I would love to go...won't know till Monday though. Even if we don't make it we sure have learned a lot...even the mentor. We'll be seeing you next month for your birthday! I'll wear flowers in my hair!
Deb-What a beautiful post. So true! I don't feel like we are competitors at ALL. Not only have I had the opportunity to gather some amazing tools, but also to gather some amazing friends, like you! I wish all of us could go....Best of luck to you this week Deb! Nerves are on edge, for sure!
