If you decide to relocate to one of the desert towns, which is what we did, you will not experience the extreme heat like they do in the large cities.  Why - less concrete, more space.  In Florence AZ where our second home is located (in a maintained Anthem Community).   In Florence, June, July and August are the hottest months with an average temperature of 101 to 102.  People say "it's a dry heat".  You really don't understand the difference if you haven't compared it to 85 degrees with 80% humidity in someplace like Ohio.  The 100+ temperature are really, really not bad!  Of course in the direct sunlight the heat is intense, but in the shade, it is very comfortable.  And you can actually breathe since the humidity is not so thick you can cut it with a knife like Ohio.  Another cool thig about the weather is that at night, it gets very nice and cool, average in the 70s during the hottest months.  It's great to go for a walk or bike ride after the sun sets.  Thomas@thomasteam.info
