In honor of Independence Day I salute all of our brave men, young and older who are fighting or who have fought to deliver the freedom and liberty to others that we have and often take for granted here. As it says in the preamble of The Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".
Please take a minute today to reflect on these important words and reflect on how in each of our everyday lives we have lived to support this sentiment that our country's founders held to be so important. And perhaps equally important, let's examine how through our words and deeds we have sought to deny these "unalienable rights" to others in our own society so that we can be more aware should our inclinations to do so in the future lean in that direction.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Be proud to be an American and be proud to support what our great country stood for over 232 years ago and what it still stands for today!
