On July 16th, 2008 Handsmill on Lake Wylie will have a ground breaking ceromony for their two-story waterfront clubhouse.  It will be "Leed" "Green" energy-efficient....the first in the area for a Clubhouse!

What is LEED^®?

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System^TM encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

Wingfoot Building Group by David Simonini will be constucting this amazing amenity with the environment in mind.

Making this clubhouse a greener place is a commitment - to our community and the world. But more than that, it is a learning process. As exciting new technologies, products and scientific breakthroughs constantly emerge, staying educated on the hows - as well as the whys.  We are also constructing a "green" playground for the community of Handsmill.

The Wingfoot Building Group also has two highly impressive (soon to be three) spec homes being built on the waterfront with Energy efficiency, Leed and Green in mind.  Besides what you cannot see behind the walls and under the home, there will be products such as bamboo floors, re-used brick, energy efficient water heaters, etc..

The "Green" future is here...lets all do our part!
