4 Comments on Bristow, VA: Copperhead Snakes Spotted In Braemar
That is one thing I love about living in the Portland area, I don't think or can't think of one animal that we have that is poisonous. I'm not sure I could handle having to watch my feet every time I took a hike.
Todd: I've lived here in VA my whole life. Rarely heard an incident of a Copperhead until recently. We also have the brown recluse spider. Much more dangerous because they are small and tend to hide in dark, places....like basements packed with boxes. What I've learned in dealing with nature, mind your own business and you'll stay out of trouble. Don't chase animals that can hurt you. Don't try to capture them. Let them be.
Just returned from the Animal Emergency Room, my dog was bitten by a copperhead :-( How do you tell a dog to just leave snakes alone!
So sorry to hear that. I wish there was a way to have our animals protected from such things. I hope your dog is okay.
