Who sells to young singles, couples and generation X that come out of college making $100,000+ incomes?

This would seem like an ideal target market for those who feel comfortable serving it.

Im part of that generation X group of young professionals with disposable income. Yes we do spend alot on items we want. Im guilty of spending tens of thousands on car accessories, clothing, and electronics myself. I market heavily to my group of generation X peers through social networking and print advertising that caters to them.

Yes it is an uptapped resource in some areas. However as I learned from my corporate experiences, generation Y is right behind us. Just as generation X replaced the baby boomers in the work force, new and hungry college grads desperate to pay off student loans are taking any job they can find for any salary available.

With the current state of the economy and jobs available, even this target group is hesitant on large purchases such as real estate. They will buy $500 games, $2,000 bicycles, more in clothes and electronics, cars, etc. With an unstable and insecure job market and economy with layoffs reported every day in the news they would rather rent than buy and risk foreclosure of having to sell quickly for a loss if they need to relocate for a job.
